Moving a Refrigerator

Unplug and DefrostGive it a good night to defrost. Make sure and wipe out the inside of the freezer with a cloth.
Use a DollyThis isn't an Iron Man contest. Save your back and use some wheels to make moving your fridge a bit more manageable.
Don't Lay it on its SideYou can permanently damage the fridge by doing so.
Give it a Few Hours Before Plugging it in AgainThis will allow the compressor's fluids to settle.
Give it a Few Hours Before You Store Your FoodIt takes a while for the fridge to optimize its temperature. Check your user's manual for specifics.
