Remove All The Contents

This may seem like a no-brainer – but your food won't survive in there. Save yourself a mess on arrival.

Unplug and Defrost

Give it a good night to defrost. Make sure and wipe out the inside of the freezer with a cloth.

Use a Dolly

This isn't an Iron Man contest. Save your back and use some wheels to make moving your fridge a bit more manageable.

Don't Lay it on its Side

You can permanently damage the fridge by doing so.

Give it a Few Hours Before Plugging it in Again

This will allow the compressor's fluids to settle.

Give it a Few Hours Before You Store Your Food

It takes a while for the fridge to optimize its temperature. Check your user's manual for specifics.
